THE Forest Musical Society reprised some of its best-loved tunes from the last 25 years in a special show to mark its silver jubilee.

The show was long-serving member Andrew Smith’s first time directing and he did an outstanding job supported by Hayley Whittington, with musical direction by Graham Williams.

The production played to large audiences at Lydney Town Hall last week.

To mark the occasion on Saturday evening Marion Whitaker was presented with life membership for 25 years’ service to the society.

Society Chairman and producer Elliott Burge said: “This show has been nearly 12 months in the making and it is a huge team effort of which I am very proud and grateful to everyone involved in making this the huge success it was.

“The show was described by many audience members as our best yet.”

Rehearsals for the group’s next show, Broadway, start on Tuesday (October 24) at 7.15pm at Coleford Baptist Church.

Anyone interested in joining with any questions can call us on 07572 320753.

The show will take place at Lydney Town Hall in May next year.
