AS my wife and I were away during the New Year break, our border terrier dog (Diz) went to stay with my eldest son who was house sitting for a friend in Clanna near Alvington.

On New Year's Day Diz was in the garden with my son when a pheasant shoot started nearby. Being a very nervous dog she became frightened and bolted off through the woods and did not return.

My daughter happened to call into our house some hours later to check all was well when she answered the telephone and spoke to a couple who had found Diz roaming on the Bream road and had rung the number on her collar.

This couple, who were driving a maroon Fiesta, drove over to Lydney and returned Diz to my daughter who in her relief of having her returned, neglected to take the names and address of these kind people.

I hope that they read this for we cannot thank them enough for their kindness and consideration and would very much like to thank them personally. Please give us a ring on 01291 623693. – J. Luther, 2 Elm Road, Tutshill, Chepstow.
