THE fantastic metal machine constructions used in the spectacular closing ceremony for the Paralympic Games on Saturday saw a proud Forest mum jumping up and down as she watched on TV.

"I actually saw Gareth jumping out to turn on parts of the machinery he had built!" said Simone Price of the big moment for her metalworker son.

Gareth, 24, who went to school in Coalway, was a key contributor to the ceremony, making backdrops for performances by Rhianna and Cold Play.

After Coalway he studied at Monmouth Comprehensive and then went to Brighton University where he studied working with metal.

He now runs his own successful bespoke metalwork company and can be contacted via his website www. Scrollermetalwork.com
