PUPILS at the Dean Academy proved they have talent after entertaining their friends and family in a talent show contest.

The evening of song and dance was based on the ITV1 hit show Britain’s Got Talent.

Naomi Browne, the international schools co-ordinator for the Lydney academy, organised the event as part of the school’s ongoing fundraising campaign for War Child.

The charity helps children whose lives have been torn apart by conflict.

Miss Browne said: “The evening was a great success, the performers were brilliant. There is so much talent here at the academy and it was lovely to see our students showing us what they can do.”

The evening raised almost £300 on the night from ticket and raffle sales.

The winners were Lucy Turner and Ryleigh Turley in Year Eight who sang a duet called Up by Olly Murs and Demi Lovato.
