Coleford United 4 Outcasts 0

COLEFORD United's remarkable run of success in Sunday League matches looks set to continue in cup football.

They had anticipated a tough challenge from the Cheltenham-based Outcasts but in the end won comfortably.

"We settled down quickly and won with something to spare," said club chairman Barry Addis.

Coleford have carried on this season from where they left off last ... they just can't stop winning.

Top of Sunday League Division 4 in the last campaign, they have already blasted their way to the top of Division 3 and and ahead with points in hand.

"It's going very well at the moment, but it is a long season so it is far too early to say how things will go in the New Year," said the chairman.

Sunday's cup game goals were scored by Mike Nelson (2), Jerry Drain and Julian Addis.

Formed as a Sunday League team in Ross, the team was largely influenced by the Addis connection and they switched to Coleford to play on the town Rec.

The team is organised by player/manager Mark Addis and is happy enough to enjoy the cut and thrust of Sunday League football rather than play in Saturday games.

"Most of the players are already committed to other teams and there are no plans to form a Saturday side," said Mr Addis.
