STEPHEN Parry, one of the stars of the Great Britain swimming team, took time out from a busy schedule to visit Cinderford and District Swimming Club at Heywood Leisure Centre on Saturday.
Stephen, a professional swimmer, was a finalist in the 200 metres butterfly at the Sydney Olympics, a three times European bronze medalist, and last year's Commonwealth Games medalist.
He spent two hours in the pool with some of the club swimmers aged from 7-17, taking them through swimming techniques including starts and turns.
Over refreshments Stephen gave an entertaining talk abut his life as a swimmer.
This was followed by a lively question and answer session.
Stephen took members through some interesting land exercises and afterwards signed autographs.
