TWO separate road accidents affected rush-hour commuters last Thursday (January 14).
A Gloucestershire Police spokesperson said: “It’s thought the accident was caused by glare of the low sun. The road was cleared at 10pm and two people went to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital – one of which sustained non life threatening injuries.”
The road between Oakle Street and Elton Corner was closed for five hours after an 18-year-old motorcyclist struck an 82-year-old pedestrian at Minsterworth.
The female pedestrian was transferred from Gloucestershire Royal Hospital to Southmead Hospital in a serious but not life threatening condition.
The incident occurred at around 5.20pm. Witnesses are asked to call 101 quoting incident number 301 of January 14.
