A MEMO to our local councillors. It is not the job of the taxpayer to keep the public sector employees in work, especially those on £100k a year.
It is to our councillors' eternal shame that these mammoth pay-packets only came to light courtesy of the Taxpayers Alliance and not through our local representatives.
To add insult to injury the likes of Labour councillor Martin suggested in all seriousness that council tax be increased instead of car parking charges. You what!
Perhaps it is only pence to you councillor, but it's money some people can ill-afford, especially when you people know full well what those employed at the Forest of Dean District council earn compared to the average for the area.
Making one person who is on £100 grand a year redundant would eliminate the need to raise any extra money at all, surely?
Let's vote the whole shower out and replace them with new independent councillors who will take decisions that benefit the whole community and not just the favoured few.
– M. Pearson, Cinderford.
