IN response to those opposed to wind turbines.
I would not mind a wind turbine near me. I, like many, lived under an airport flight path for six years, so close that the whole house vibrated as planes came in to land.
It really upsets me to hear people moan and complain yet put forward not one alternative. We have no choice than to invest in a number of different energy sources with wind playing a major part.
Have you not noticed the cost of fossil fuels going up?
There will come a point when it costs more energy to extract fuels than it gives.
I would prefer a wind turbine and to have electric. What is your plan for when our children can no longer afford the resources that we are so thoughtlessly depleting?
Don't forget to take into account the coming 10 million population increase in the next 20 years.
Some of those will have to live in the Forest and we are already two-and-a-half thousand homes short. They will all need electric.
Also, take into account the emissions target we signed up to so that our children might have the chance of a healthy planet as well as an aesthetically pleasing one, which seems to be so important to you
