Over the years Two Rivers has attracted some bad press, none more so than during the time when grass cutting seemed to dominate the local papers.

I thought it was therefore about time that the good they do got a mention.

I took my granddaughter to a fun event held by Two Rivers at Severnbanks School, Lydney. The event was entirely free and offered a barbecue, face painting and a bouncy castle to name but a few events that kept my eight year-old granddaughter occupied for a few hours.

I understand they have held several of these events. It was great. There are not many times you get something free these days and the staff were most obliging. I do not know of any council in the past to have done something like this.

Good on you, Two Rivers. You clearly do care about the community!
