A FORMER soldier who says he was attacked in broad daylight has appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident to go to the police.

The man, who has asked not to be identified, says the assault took place near the A and H Jones butcher’s shop in Coleford Road, Tutshill.

He is appealing for anyone who was in the area at around 3pm on Tuesday, May 7, and saw the alleged attack to give any information to the police.

He said the assault was unprovoked and left him with bruising to his face.

He went to Gloucester Royal Hospital as a result of his injuries.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Gloucestershire Police on 101 quoting incident number 252 of May 7.
