NEARLY 60 drivers battled it out in the latest round of thrilling autograss racing at Elton Corner on Sunday.
Autograss is Britain's most popular form of amateur motor racing with men and women competing against each other in a variety of classes.
The event at Elton Corner was organised by the Gloucester and District Autograss Club which includes many Foresters among its members.
Among the stand-out performers was Alan Henschker of Cinderford driving a Mini. He bounced back to win most of his races despite breaking down in the first heat.
Competitors came from across the Forest, the Wye Valley and as far away as Stroud and Evesham for the day of racing.
Club chairman Phil Lancett said: "It was a very good day of racing."
The club's next race day at Elton Corner is on Sunday, October 13 and it meets on the first Tuesday of each month at the Water Board Club, Valley Road, Cinderford.
