North Gloucestershire League Division Two

Lydbrook Athletic A 3-0 Redbrook Rovers Res

--

LYDBROOK Athletic picked up three valuable points with victory against fellow strugglers Redbrook Rovers Reserves.

Goals from Steve Baldwin, Kyle Broad and Lee Morley consigned Redbrook to a 14th straight defeat this season.

It was a second win in a row for Lydbrook after a 3-2 victory at Ruardean Hill A the previous weekend.

The victory drew them level on 12 points with Viney St Swithins Reserves, but they stay second from bottom.

While Viney have a healthier goal difference, they have played three more games than the Athletic.

Lydbrook’s Keith Wilks said: “It was a good result for us.

“We are doing well against the teams around us.

“We scored three good goals and we should have had more, but we didn’t take our chances.”

Viney Hill went down 2-1 at home to title chasers Bream Amts Reserves

Bream leapfrogged Milkwall Reserves to the top spot, after their table top rivals went down 3-1 to fourth-placed Coleford Town Reserves.

In the division’s other games over the weekend, Mitcheldean Reserves drew 2-2 with Ruardean A while Mushet and Coalway Reserves won 2-3 at Weston.
