AN ENORMOUS dragon has been spotted at Chepstow Castle and it won’t be moving for almost a fortnight.
The stint at Chepstow is part of the one tonne creature’s tour of castles around Wales this summer.
The spectacular creature was sculpted and moulded before being built out of fibreglass, by prop design specialists, Wild Creations.
It took six weeks, 374kgs of silicon and a team of 15 talented sculptors to create the dragon.
It first took up residence at Caerphilly Castle on St David’s Day – March 1 – and Chepstow is the first stage of the tour.
The visit has been organised by Cadw, the Welsh Government’s historic environment service.
Visitors who meet the dragon in the castle’s lower bailey can get bonus content on their smart phones by opening the Cadw app in front of the beast’s snout.
There will also be dragon story sessions at the castle on the next two Saturdays (August 6 and August 13).
