A JUNIOR football team came through a nail biting cup final penalty shootout to lift the trophy for the third year running.
And Lydney Town U12s also lifted the league title the very same day.
The final against FC Highnam at Cheltenham Town’s ground ended 3-3, with Louis Callus, George King and Bailey James hitting the target for Town.
And they kept their nerve in the shootout to take the Ted Croker Cup 7-6 on penalties before captain Aston Jeffs also lifted the League Division One trophy as well.
Town manager Glyn Callus thanked his assistants Steve Jeffs and Steve Roberts, all of the players and of course the supporters for helping make it another successful season.
The team is holding an open morning on Saturday, June 10 between 10am and noon at Lydney Football Club – bring your boots and shin pads.
