A GYMASTICS club organiser has been named one of the best sports admistrators in the land.

Staff and gymnasts at the Forest of Dean Gymnastics Centre in Berry Hill were delighted and proud when club administrator Mandie Adams was awarded second prize in the ‘Gymnastics Club Administrator of the Year’ competition.

This was a national competition to recognise the tremendous contribution that “unsung heroes” like Mandie make to sports clubs, attracting a huge entry with a wealth of nominations.

Mandie was nominated by gymnastic centre. director Lynn Hammersley, who said: “Mandie always goes the extra mile.

“She is always friendly and cheerful and not only does all her usual office jobs, but volunteers at competitions and events selling refreshments and helping out.

“She is there not only as a personal support to me and the other staff, but also to the gymnasts, parents and fitness members taking a personal interest in each. She is the front-of-house face of the gymnastics centre and really deserves an award.”

Although there was one main prize, the organisers and sponsors of the award, Gymnastics Club Manager, were so impressed with Mandie that they created a second prize for her of £200 worth of Amazon vouchers.

Mandie, who had been informed that she was in the final 10, was amazed when she received a phone call to say that she was the runner-up.

“Everyone agrees that she is a deserving winner,” added Lynn.
