A WOMAN from Chepstow-based AluK took on a seven-day canoeing, cycling and abseiling challenge in the Wye Valley recently, raising over £100,000 for children’s hospices.

Sioned Webb, marketing director at the aluminium window, door and curtain walling specialists, was part of team of 12 women who took part in Paddle2Pedal. The fundraiser was organised by the aluminium window and door industry to raise money for Hope House Children’s Hospices.

It saw the women cover 220 miles, climbing 7,200ft and abseiling 135ft straight down the rock face at Symonds Yat. The team then canoed 100 miles down the Wye over five days, with support on tidal stretches from Severn Area Rescue Association, before finally ending up in Chepstow.
