Whitehouse Press North Gloucestershire League Division Two

Ruardean United 2-3 Ruardean Hill Rangers A

----------

RUARDEAN Hill Rangers A picked up their first win of the season with victory over neighbours Ruardean United.

It has been a difficult start to the season for both teams but the three points lifted Rangers two places in Division Two to 10th place.

The visitors had a comfortable 0-3 lead at the break with goals from Ryan Chessell, Scott Frowen and Kieran Lilley.

United narrowed the gap early in the second half when Dan Reid headed in a Kirt Jones free kick.

With a quarter of an hour to go, a cross by Alan Williams was headed into the Rangers net by a defender to set up a high tempo finish.

Jones almost earned the equaliser with a well-struck free kick in the last minute which brought a good save from Lee Burford in the Rangers’ goal.
