A JUNIOR football club has linked up with Championship high flyers Bristol City to develop its young players.

Ellwood Youth FC welcomed the Robins’ Football Academy coach Ian Rossiter to work with its U11 and U12 teams.

And a coach will attend the club every other month as part of the tie up with the Football League outfit, who are currently lying fourth in the Championship.

Ellwood Youth chairman Jason Bevan said he had been in talks over the summer with Bristol City’s Football Academy director about developing a relationship with the Forest outfit. 

“The head of the academy couldn’t have been more helpful over the last few months,” he added.

A Bristol City scout came to watch a couple of Ellwood U16 players in a pre-season friendly against Bream, and the Forest club’s chairman and FA coach has also been asked to be a regional spotter for talented youth players in the Forest and Gloucestershire.

Currently Ellwood U11s are looking for few new players, two from Year Six, and are also looking for couple of U7s, from Year Two.
