North Gloucestershire League Division Three

Sling 1-2 Ruardean Utd

TWO second half goals earned the three points for Ruardean United.

The visitors started in fifth place in Division Three, five places above Sling.

It was the Coleford side who took a 1-0 lead into the break thanks to a score by Ross Cole.

But scores by Daniel Reid and Jamie Anderson-Kirby gave United the points.

The result means that Ruardean move into fourth place at the expense of Littledean who lost 1-0 at Redmarley Reserves who move into eighth.

Division Three leaders Lydney Town A were in County Cup action and progressed courtesy of a 5-2 win over Bishops Cleeve

Harrow Hill A are level on points with second-placed Ellwood Reserves – who did not play this weekend – after a 2-1 home win against Yorkley Reserves.

Ellwood have a much superior goal difference – they are 49 ahead of Hill .

In the other game in the division, Newnham United thrashed strugglers Whitecroft B 8-0 who scored four goals in each half.

There were two each for Lee Brice, Jason Littleton and Matthew Ridler and one each for James Beckingham and Ben Boulton.

Despite the big win, Newnham remain in sixth place.
