FORMER Drybrook coach Frazer McArdell has been named, by the Singapore Rugby Union (SRU), as their men’s national 15s head coach.
Frazer’s father, Stuart McArdell told the Review: “Frazer was offered a job in Singapore last August by the ex-Gloucester player James Forester, and moved out there. He was head coach of the Singapore Wanderers RFC for the 2015 to16 season which resulted in them winning the top national league as well as the corresponding cup competition, without losing a single match in either tournament.
“The SRU headhunted Frazer for the position because, in their words, they had never seen the style of rugby he brought to The Wanderers played in Singapore before.
“They have a four-year development plan and want Frazer to be at the coaching helm to help steer them through.
“In addition to the successes of his Wanderers RFC and his appointment to the SRU, he has just been awarded a directorship in the sports education company in which he works with ex-Gloucester and England player James Forester. It’s the culmination of a golden twelve months.”
Frazer coached Drybrook while he was working as a sports science lecturer at Hartpury. Casey Mee and former Singapore international Mark Lee will assist Frazer in his new role.
