Milkwall 0-3 Mitcheldean Reserves

GOALS by player-manager Robert Brown and Chris Whitehead sent Mitcheldean to second in the table.

Worrall Hill – who beat Yorkley Reserves 6-0 on the weekend – now head the division on goal difference.

All three goals at Milkwall came in the first half with Brown netting twice but the visitors were made to work hard for the three points.

It’s been a good start to the season for Mitcheldean who, like leaders Worrall Hill, have six straight wins this term.

Much of that success is down to Brown’s appointment as reserves’ manager after a spell as assistant with the firsts.

He has been able to attract more players and there is competition for places.

Brown’s side face third-placed Rank Outsiders in a Mitcheldean derby in the West Dean Charities Junior Cup final this weekend.

That game takes place on Sunday afternoon at Harrow Hill’s ground.
