Broadwell Reserves 3-1 Huntley

LATE goals from substitutes Craig Tait and Robert Smith gave Broadwell all three points.

In an evenly-matched game, Kurt Hanson put the home side ahead on 26 minutes after his shot was deflected into the net.

Broadwell could have doubled their lead just before the break but Mike Etheridge directed his penalty straight at Huntley ’keeper, Lee James. Huntley stepped up a gear in the second half, with Craig Alexander having to pull off two good saves to keep the visitors at bay.

The visitors evened up the score with a goal by William Freeman after 55 minutes.

Broadwell re-established their lead after 68 minutes when the ball bobbled into the box and Tait finished off.

The three points were sealed when Smith scored with six minutes left.

A good free-kick deceived the defence and with the ball squared into the box, Smith came running in to score.

Before the game the team was presented with a new kit by local funeral directors Ernest Heal and Son.
