TWO goals from Harry Jackson secured the points for Lydney Town B at Ellwood Reserves.

The result means that Lydney close the gap with second-placed Viney St Swithins to two points with Town still having a couple of games in hand.

Chris Morgan got the goal for the home side who remain in sixth place.

Both leaders Staunton and Corse and Viney St Swithins were in FJ Pope Cup action on the weekend.

Staunton and Corse secured a place in the semi-final with a 1-4 win over Bream Amts while Viney lost their quarter final to Blakeney 3-0.

In the other FJ Pope matches, Broadwell A needed penalties after their game at Sling ended 3-3 in normal time. Broadwell went through 4-5 in the shoot-out.

Mitcheldean Reserves progressed more comfortably, beating St Briavels 4-1.
