YORKLEY moved up a place in the North Gloucestershire League third division with this win over strugglers St Briavels.

The home side remain second from bottom, four points ahead of basement side Rank Outsiders Reserves but three points adrift of Newent Town A, although the Wye Valley side have a game in hand.

Goals from Ian Phelps and Adam Tyler earned the visitors the win which saw them move a point ahead of Lydney Town B who did not have a game last weekend.

In the only other third division game played last weekend, Sling won 1-4 at Rank Outsiders Reserves which saw them move up one place to sixth.

Greg Prosser got a couple for Sling with the side’s other goals coming from John Black and Joe Wood.

Jonathan Cleal scored the consolation for the home side.
