FIVE tries – four of them from scrum-half Zowie Preest – contributed to the party atmosphere at Bream.

The home side consolidated their position at the top of Gloucestershire Division Two with three first half tries and a couple more after the break.

The Bream defence was tested early on and it was Ross who were first onto the scoreboard with a well-taken penalty.

Bream started to take control with the pack dominant in the scrum and the line-out working well.

From a scrum close to the Ross line Bream got the shove and scrum-half Zowie Preest got the touchdown with fly-half Lance Evans just missing out on the extra point from wide out.

The Forest side thought they had added another try but the referee ruled winger Dan Hardy had been held up.

Bream kept up the pressure and a good move from the backs resulted in Joel Lesperence try with Evans getting the conversion.

The pack's dominance set up Preest for his second and Evans added the conversion to make it 19-3 at the interval.

Determined defence from the visitors in the second half kept Ross in sight but there was no respite from Bream's attacks or the driving rain for the Herefordshire men.

A scrum in the Ross 22 saw the drive that saw Preest get his hat-trick with the extra points added by Evans.

The last try came, almost inevitably, from a driving scrum with Preest getting his fourth of the afternoon.
