CALDICOT Town under 18s continued their miserable start to the season with a 6-1 defeat at Ely Rangers. They are bottom of Welsh League Youth Division East having conceded 18 goals and lost both their of first two games.

In the East Gwent Under 16 league Caldicot Town are the early leaders after a 4-2 win at Chepstow Town.

A host of sides are a point behind them including Monmouth who beat Undy B 5-4 and have a game in hand.

Garden City secured a first win of the season in style with a 6-0 win over Abergavenny Thursdays while Mardy won 4-1 at home to Undy A in the weekend's only other fixture.

Newport Corinthians are the only side with a 100 per cent record after two games of the Under 14 League season.

They followed up their opening day success with a 4-1 win over Rogerstone Rovers.

Chepstow Town are among the teams behind them on four points following a 3-3 draw with Undy Athetic. Abergavenny Thursdays – who are below Chepstow on goal difference – drew 1-1 with Garden City while Rockfield Rovers, who are also joint-second beat, Maesglas United 4-3. The other game this weekend saw Villa Dino – who had lost their first game – smash Malpas United 9-3.

Garden City and Monmouth Town are joint top of the Under 13 League after two wins from two. Town beat Musko (Mardy and Usk) 3-1 while Garden City triumphed 5-3 at Thornwell.

Undy, who were beaten by Monmouth in their first game, bounced back with a 7-1 thrashing of Caerwent.

In the Under 12 League Undy top the table after scoring nine goals in each of their first two fixtures.

They beat Usk 9-4 on Sunday to go with their 9-3 win at Sudbrook Cricket Club last weekend.

Sudbrook bounced back from that defeat with a 7-5 win at Mardy while Garden City edged a close derby game 3-2 over Chepstow Town. Monmouth Town are bottom of the league at this early stage after suffering successive defeats. They were beaten 3-1 at home to Abergavenny.
