Kestrel Gymnastics Club’s younger gymnasts were beaming after the medal presentation at the South East Wales Prelims Championships in Newport.

Competing  in the eight years section performing three tumbles and two vaults, Imogen-Mae Page won individual silver on vault and tumble, which secured the overall champion trophy. 

Daisy Brandon took fifth place ribbon on vault, gold on tumble, and the third overall trophy.

Ingrid Zina won the sixth place ribbon on tumble, Carys Fullerton won the fourth place ribbon on tumble, and Robin Kedward won bronze on vault. 

A club spokeswoman said: “They worked really hard as a team, and were delighted to receive their gold medals as South East Prelims team champions.”  

The boys in the nine to 10 years section kept up the pace with Ted Watson winning silver on vault and tumble, and was very pleased to win the overall champion trophy.

Leo Childs landed fourth place ribbon on tumble, bronze on vault and second place overall, while Henry French took sixth place ribbon on vault, gold on tumble to be third overall.

Daniel Kucharczyk was vault champion winning gold, and tied with Charlie Jones to win the sixth place ribbon on tumble. 

The spokeswoman said: “It was an excellent start to their competition year, and they are all putting some good work towards the national prelims at the end of the month.”
