Mitcheldean 1-0 Ellwood Reserves
------------
LAST season’s Premier Division runners-up left it late to seal all three points in this end-to-end encounter.
Damon Beaumont beat the offside trap in the 81st minute to claim a well-taken goal.
Mitcheldean manager Andre Titmus described it as “edge of the seat stuff” and admitted there were some stern words at half-time.
He said: “I think we had the majority of the first half and there was a dressing down at half-time and we improved in the areas we needed to in the second half.
“Ellwood will consider themselves unlucky not to have left with something but I’m pleased with the three points.”
The aim for the season is to go one better than last term when the side was pipped for the title by English Bicknor.
There were big wins for the current leaders, Whitecroft, and second-placed Redbrook Rovers who hit the net 14 times between them.
Whitecroft put six past Lydbrook Athletic Reserves with a Brad Kear hat-trick and one each for Aaron Goddard, Luke Hutton and Luke Nash.
Redbrook beat Bream Amts 8-3 with Scott Windley getting a hat-trick for Rovers.
Neville Harris hit the net twice and there were goals for Colin Morgan, Richard Seaborn and Thomas Wareham completed the scoring
for Redbrook.
Sam Hill got a brace for Bream and there was also a goal for Nick Hook.
