NEWNHAM did their goal difference no harm with a 5-0 thrashing of Yorkley.

United started the day four points behind the visitors but this comprehensive win took them to one place behind Yorkley – although they have played three games more.

Yorkley went into the interval just a goal behind but another four unanswered scores gave Newnham the three points.

The scorers for Newnham were Christian Assirati, Lee Brice, Steve Grindle, Matthew Ridler and substitute Tom Fraser.

The only other game played in the division was the top-of-the-table clash between Ellwood Reserves and leaders Ruardean Hill Rangers Reserves.

Ruardean are six points to the good over second-placed Ellwood and also have four games in hand after the 2-2 draw.
