GOING into this game Puma Reserves had managed just five league goals all season.

And when Viney Hill Reserves took a two-goal lead mid-way through the first-half it looked as if a ninth straight Division Two defeat for Puma was the most likely outcome.

But football, as they say, is a funny old game and it was the visitors who had the last laugh.

Viney Hill captain Andy Phillips said: "At 2-0 up we said the next goal would be crucial but unfortunately they got it and that brought them into the game."

The home side were in what seemed a comfortable position thanks to two goals by Ercan Demirok but Puma pulled one back just before the break after a defensive mistake.

Andy said: "We had plenty of chances for other goals but we just could not score."

The game was levelled with a 40-yard lob that caught Viney keeper Andy Fawke off his line and sailed into the net.

Andy added: "We kept on creating chances and when the referee said there were two minutes left we had a couple of clear chances.

"This was a surprise result and looking at the table and how close things are you want to be winning these games."

In the other games in the division leaders Redmarley took three points without kicking a ball after they were awarded a walk-over against Bream Amts Reserves.

Second-placed Tidenham are six points behind following a 4-1 home win against fourth-place Howle Hill but they have two games in hand over the leaders.

Third-place Westbury United Reserves were in George Sandoe Cup action and progressed with a 4-1 win over Milkwall Reserves.
