THE honeymoon period is over for Caldicot boss Mark Williams after they tasted defeat for the first time since he took charge, losing 5-3 at home to Penrhiwceiber Rangers. The result means they remain 12th in Welsh League Division Two. Town's next game is a cup tie with local rivals Undy Athletic on Friday night. And Undy will go into the game with their confidence sky high after crushing bottom side Cwmaman Institute 6-0. The win moves them up into fifth place.

In Gwent County League Division Three, Caldicot Castle moved out of the bottom three with their third win of the season – a 3-2 victory over bottom club Pontypool Town. Thornwell Red and White were also involved in a five goal thriller but came out on the losing side – suffering a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Trinant.

Undy Athletic moved up to second in Welsh League Reserve Division East following a 4-1 derby win over Caldicot Town. Chepstow stay fourth after a disappointing 2-0 defeat at Caerleon.
