AROUND 100 competitors took part in a very successful autograss meet on Sunday (July 10).

The event was hosted by the Gloucester and District Autograss Club at Elton Corner.

As well as drivers from across the Forest, the club welcomed competitors from south and west Wales, the Midlands and the south west of England.

The club, which meets at the Water Board Club in Valley Road, Cinderford on the first Tuesday of each month, is enjoying a swell in popularity for the sport.

Member Timmy Manners will be competing in a national finals competition later in the summer.

The day at Elton provided the usual fantastic spectacle with vehicles from beginners to extremely powerful, modified machines being put through their paces.

The next meet takes place on Sunday, August 14 at Elton.
