CHEPSTOW 2nds captain Huw Rogers was full of praise for his younger players after seeing his side recover from 73-7 to 215 all out and then skittle Welsh Asians out for 91.
"It was great to see youngsters like Mitchell Harris, Tudor Morgan-Huggett and Josh Tregaskes take responsibility and give a mature performance when the team was struggling," Rogers said.
"They excelled with bat and ball, scoring vital runs and then taking crucial wickets to turn a likely defeat, into a victory. I was very pleased with the way they responded."
Coming in at number eight, 17-year-old Mitchell Harris made 73 to help his side to 216 from their 50 overs before ripping through the visitors top order to finish with figures of 4-31.
The game had looked in the balance before Harris' contribution with the bat as the top order struggled to get going. Only Amit Kriplani (24) and Paul Bennett (13) had made it into double figures before Harris came to the crease.
Along with Tudor Morgan-Huggett (20) and Josh Tregaskes (23) the three youngsters helped the home side reach a respectable total.
Rogers (19 not out) led a late but fruitless charge for the fifth batting point in the Thomas Carroll Glamorgan and Monmouthshire Second XI League.
Tregaskes and Morgan Huggett were also in the wickets, picking up 3-28 and 2-3 respectively to complete a good days work and bowl Welsh Asians out for 91.
Chepstow are now fourth in Division One.
